This is Edmontons MAIN street Jasper Avenue, even now though it has these remants of a former time -- here an exampleof Edmonton during its WWII glory. when the rising new technology priviously in competition with horse power has been supplanted. here though it still survives

\Modern Building/- Jasper Avenue - east of 99th

This was the nee/ plus ultra of a certain time -- this building could have been a response to the arrival of the americans during the second world war.

May this too be true?

The Tweeking Man in the Alley

Yes here -- a man or assemblage of those descriptions being all we have - tweeking on his last moments of c onstraint before he DOES something -- wellhe could walk the 100 yards to the youth emergency shelter and ask for a rehab bed -- BUT no he is steaming himself up to break in to one of these cars -- at least til I come round and catch a glimps and then walk back and take a picture.

It is time now you and I to venture out now beneath the sky -- pale and wan -- yet with the slight of hand that a spring day can provide -- warmth with a best before of a couple of hours before its best before - and expiration-- but no more -- no more of that -- at least yet -- WE imagine the warmth is coming -- coming yes -- like Swinborgs Hound of Heaven-- to hunt us down thru the trackless nights. and have us know what our bone marrow has always known -- the life so short the craft so long to learn: Our planet loves us as strangely as we love it.
In the mist I find my tears and as the mist leaves no scar I am born and baptized by the following hope and haven - that horror and harangue - this is my only home and I must find a way to sleep in this rocky port on bad nights.

s - returned from York,UK - May 27-2009

This is the one photo she allowed me to take -- and yes it did not work out well -- I should just take agroup of photos with my small digital point-and-shoot till it fills its buffer -- and then we will see what is there.,

She was thou -- for the most part -- well- somewhat spacey fromthe journey.

And I -- and her sister -- and her brother were glad to see her.

As I pass \Two Rooms/ I am reminded that they are not always open at 07.30 am

-- So it though is hard to fault people -- especially restaurant people who imagine the day before that they will wake up at 5AM tto do that thing they need to do to open at 7:30am. And on a sunny spring day in Edmonton all of us can imagine this a possible, even if occasionally not possible.

Those fluids - both benign and less so - that I drink in the eve of Friday.

So here I am -- yes once again at the Accent Bistro -- they do not call it a bistro, but I do. This is the small repast I do allow myself after work -- on a pay day that is a Friday. Now the truth is they call them selves: Accent European Lounge -- but that sounds like a stab at redoing Harry/s bar in Venice -- or place that only features Ernest Hemmingway/s drinks for Esquire -- like \Death in the Afternoon/ - Absenth laid under chilled Moet et Chandon Champaignia. No this place is somewhat more nieghbourly than all that. .

Places in Edmonton - for Breakfast -

This is a complete rip-off off the restaurant reviewer at the CBC Radio 1 programme ¨Radio active¨- but I do hope to add my own perspective on these and add a couple of observations of Whyte Ave based breakfast places.

This is for breakfast only —

Hap's Hungry House
163rd on Stoney Plain Road
-- everything under five bucks.

Daily Planet in the Wheaton YMCA Downtown
open at six AM. 102nd Ave.

High Level Diner -- 109th Street — a place I had known in the 198o's.

This day is a day - in my life -- when I will now remember that a week ago my second mother died.

My sister - Jaclyn

My sister-- Jaclyn has become a very confident writer in a form that she may be unaware of : simple as in her talk day to day – it is narrative. Further – she is lightening quick on the cellphone keyboard and and it appears to have translated to the laptop without any much fuss or bother.
